Migo’s Christening during Quarantine

Migo received the Sacrament of Baptism last week at the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Tagaytay City. I was a bit hesitant at first to schedule it for him out of fear for Covid 19, but upon learning the Church safety protocols, I went ahead and put the fear aside.

The safety protocols of the Church include the usual temperature scanning, alcohol spray and logging of names upon your arrival. Wearing of mask is also a must and social distancing must also be observed even during the actual celebration of the Baptism. I was also told that only the parents and one pair of Ninong and Ninang are allowed to witness the ceremony in order to avoid too many people inside the Church.

The whole Baptism ceremony only took 30 minutes, and this already includes the brief seminar held beforehand, which mainly explains what baptism is, as well as its importance.

I am truly grateful, that despite of the Covid 19 pandemic, Migo was still able to receive the Sacrament of Baptism. Sharing with you below a short clip of the ceremony.

Requirements I submitted for Baptism:

  • Copy of the Registered Birth Certificate of my Baby
  • Copy of Marriage Certificate

What to Bring on Your Baby’s Baptism:

  • White dress / clothes
  • White cap or handkerchief
  • Candles
  • Donation to the Church

Note: You can list as many Ninongs or Ninangs you want, but only one pair can attend the ceremony while we are still on quarantine.
